An Indianapolis school teacher confiscated this “lipstick knife” from a 9-year-old girl in her class. It seems the girl had brought it to school to “cut up” one of her friends. The lipstick knife and its cousin — the “lipstick pipe” — are commonly sold all over the country.

We’ve seen plenty of hidden or camouflaged contraband blades over the months. Objects like the lipstick knife are most likely to be brought in by civilians during inmate visits or smuggled by corrections staff.
