NEW YORK — A man who was slashed by a stranger in the Riker’s Island visitor area is suing an unnamed corrections officer who posted a photo of the injury to his Facebook.
Chad Seegars was allegedly grabbed from behind, then slashed on his right cheek, according to the NY Daily News. The wound was eight inches long and required 90 stitches.
He is suing the city, the Department of Corrections, and the unnmated corrections officer who posted the photo for an unspecified amount, citing that the photo was humiliating and distressing.
“I was devestated,” Shalanda Seegers, Seegers’ mother, said. “My son’s face was split open like a pear.”
