AUGUSTA, GA. — An Augusta State Medical Prison employee will spend 10 years behind bars for trading with inmates.

44-year-old Stephanie Lewis was sentenced, Friday, after pleading guilty to Violation of Oath by a Public Officer, crossing guard lines with drugs, Trading with inmates and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Lewis developed an intimate relationship with an inmate.

An informant says Lewis brought the inmate marijuana every week in exchange for her to be able to purchase several items at one store and a credit line at another.
