In support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York
LYONS FALLS: The 3rd Annual Otis Invitational Golf Outing for Charity was recently held at the Turin Highlands Golf Club, Turin, NY. In a combined effort through our generous vendors, enthusiastic employees and dedicated local businesses, we were able to present the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) with $22,000.00! This is by far, the most successful charity tournament to date for Otis Technology, Inc.
Why did Otis choose to support the RMHC? Because when parents are told that their child is seriously ill, life stops. The routine of daily tasks is interrupted by travel to distant cities for the best medical care. Dinners may come from hospital cafeterias or vending machines. The comforts of home are traded for sleeping in chairs near the bedside of a sick child unless there is a Ronald McDonald House nearby. For that, the Ronald McDonald House is called “The House That Love Built.” More than one Otis employee has utilized the RMHC due to unfortunate circumstances. Family is first at Otis Technology, and for that, the RMHC holds a special place in the hearts of many Otis employees.
The success of the RMHC would not be possible without generous supporters. They are a non-profit organization managed by a volunteer board and depend on the support of businesses and corporations, civic & fraternal, community service groups, and individuals. The needs of the Ronald McDonald House are ever-changing and growing. Financial support comes from the dedicated efforts of hundreds of loyal individuals and caring people in businesses and organizations who host annual fundraisers. These events help support the programs and enhance the hospitality for the children and families who stay at “The House That Love Built.”
