I know that we all like to have our duty bags with all of our forms and goodies in them. Many officers, myself included, carry this bag on the front passenger seat of our patrol cars, but from a tactical standpoint, this may pose problems. For example, let’s say you are on a motor vehicle stop and somehow an armed assailant is gaining ground and firing on you from your driver’s side. You might have to climb out of the car through the passenger side to gain cover and engage in the fight. If there is gear in your way, you may be obstructed. Consider carrying your duty bag elsewhere.
