MARKLEVILLE, Ind. — An off-duty CO who was killed following an altercation around a bonfire died of strangulation, according to a coroner.
Last Thursday, police were called about a fight that broke out at a house. They found 29-year-old CO Uriah Wilson dead at the scene, WBIW reports. Witnesses told police that two men were sitting around a bonfire near the house when a fight broke out after shots were fired.
Police said they believe Wilson was visiting the house where the incident happened. Joseph Hartley, 29, was taken to custody as a person of interest in Wilson’s death.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
