BURGIN, Ky. — A correctional officer has died after suffering a medical emergency during training, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
Kentucky Department of Corrections Officer Hunter Miller died after suffering a fatal heart attack while completing a physical training test. Miller collapsed during the test, which was part of his duties for the Emergency Response Team. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to the page.
Miller had served with the Kentucky Department of Corrections for two years and was assigned to the Northpoint Training Center, according to the page. He is survived by his mother, sister and stepmother.
