WATERMAN, Ill. — A DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office deputy died following a crash, WBTV reports.
Deputy Christina Musil was parked on the shoulder of a roadway on Thursday night when a commercial truck ran off the road and rear-ended her cruiser.
Musil was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where she died, according to WBTV.
Musil was a five-year veteran of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and served in the corrections and patrol divisions. She also completed four years of service in the Army National Guard as a military police officer, including a deployment to Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009.
