SOUTH HILL, Wash. — Pierce County deputies and a K-9 helped track down two wanted men, including one who had escaped prison, KRIO reports.
One of the two 30-year-old men was wanted for escaping prison. He also had warrants for unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The other man was wanted on a warrant from the Department of Corrections.
As deputies, the FBI and the Department of Corrections arrived at the scene at a condo complex, the suspect who had escaped from prison ran from deputies through a nearby wooded area. The suspect lost a shoe in the process, which is what K-9 Eddie used to track and locate him.
The other wanted man was arrested inside one of the units without incident.
Deputies searched the unit and found an extended gun magazine hidden inside a toilet as well as 1,000 fentanyl pills.
Both suspects face potential additional charges pending review.
