RAVALLI COUNTY, Mo. — After several inmates reported ill effects from carbon monoxide poisoning, commissioners in Ravalli County are approving a plan to install monitors in the courthouse and administration building.
According to KPAX, inmates were complaining of headaches, nausea and burning eyes. The problem was traced to a propane leak from the boilers in the same building.
Though that issue has been resolved, commissioners agreed to spend $2,500 to place monitors near the boilers to ensure anything like the leak doesn’t happen again.
The monitors will give off a noise when detecting carbon monoxide, and will also send an alert to 911 dispatchers.
