PORTLAND, Ore. — Prisoners have been steadily paying for a program that allows Xboxes in individual cells at one Oregon state prison.
Supporters say it’s a good incentive for better behavior and it’s a money-maker.
However, some feel it’s a security threat and prisoners should not be allowed the ability to have access to games that may contain violence.
The Oregon State Correctional Institution started their Xbox program about two months ago. Instead of just having a game console in a common room, some inmates are now allowed to have them in their cells.
