BOLIVIA, N.C. — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has disciplined three more employees after an inmate posed as his brother and escaped from the county jail.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told local media outlets that Sheriff John Ingram on Friday suspended jailer Aaron Glen Stanley and Lt. Ronald Gore for two days. He also demoted Karl Scoggins from sergeant to corporal. All three men worked at the jail.

Ingram fired jailer Ashley Harrell last weekend.

William Earl Hewett, who escaped from the jail on Jan. 29, was found in a camper on his family’s property on Tuesday. He is being held in lieu of a $3 million bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
