GROVETOWN, Ga — Grovetown inmates going through a bit of a wardrobe change. Now, they’re pretty in pink. On Monday, the jail started passing out pink uniforms for inmates to wear everyday, but there’s a reason the orange jumpsuits are out.
After two inmates escaped from the Grovetown detention center in July, and with a new chief they’re stepping up security and making some changes. One is a simple change in color that could make a world of difference.
The Grovetown jail is seeing 50 shades of pink.
“Who wants to come to jail and wear pink,” said Sgt. Cameron Brown with Grovetown Public Safety.
Three days ago, the typical orange inmate uniforms became so last season when officers started making their inmates wear hot pink uniforms.
“Wearing the pink kind of let’s them know we run the jail and they don’t,” said Sgt. Brown.
