SIERRA BLANCA, Texas — Three detention officers killed in a rollover crash were found to not be wearing their seat belts at the time of impact, causing them to be ejected from the vehicle.

According to KFOXTV, the two officers are Alan Eduardo Pena, Rudy Arana, and McKenzi Taylor.

All three were killed when the Chevy Suburban they were riding in rolled over on Interstate 10 in Sierra Blanca.

It was determined that the driver, George Gomez-Olague, lost control of the SUV after he made an unsafe lane change, trying to pass another vehicle. The SUV went off the road, rolling over in the median area of the interstate.

Gomez-Olague and another officer, Chistopher Sierra, suffered injuries from the crash but survived.

All five officers worked at the West Texas Detention Facility in Sierra Blanca.
