BRISTOL, Tenn. — An off-duty correctional sergeant thwarted an armed robbery, WJHL reports.
The Bristol (Tenn.) Police Department received a report that an armed robbery was in progress on March 4 at a gas station convenience store.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Samantha Davis, who stopped at the gas station on her way to work, held the suspect at gunpoint while employees helped Davis with cuffing the suspect.
“The Bristol Police Department would like to thank the corrections officer from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office for the vital role they played in this case,” a news release from the police department said.
The suspect, identified as Brandon Scott Lowe, 28, of Salisbury, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, criminal impersonation, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, WJHL reports.
