LOS ANGELES — Blink-182 will play a benefit show with Alkaline Trio at the Hollywood Palladium on Feb. 13 to support ongoing Los Angeles fire relief.

Last week, drummer Travis Barker visited the Rose Bowl Complex in Pasadena, where he met and spoke with a group of incarcerated men working 24-hour shifts as firefighters combating the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. He also met with members of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, a support network for formerly incarcerated individuals and advocates for criminal justice reform who seek to reduce incarceration and improve the outcomes of former inmates.

“These guys are heroes,” he wrote over a group photo with the firefighters on his Instagram story. “They are risking their lives to serve people. Save people. Help people. And becoming men in the process. I love the awareness that the Anti-Recidivism Coalition is bringing to the incarcerated guys working these fires. A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing.”

In an interview with TMZ, drummer Travis Barker said he was moved by the time he spent with the incarcerated firefighters who worked alongside front-line first responders.

“It had a big impact on me when I heard about it,” Barker said in the interview. “I heard they were passing a law where these guys can become real firefighters when they get out, and when I heard that, I wanted to be vocal and loud because I spent a lot of time with these guys, and it was really special to hear their stories.”

Barker’s sister-in-law Kim Kardashian—yes, the reality TV star, but also a criminal justice reform advocate—chimed in on social media by calling on Gov. Gavin Newsom to increase the wages of incarcerated firefighters to a rate that “honors a human being risking their life to save our lives and homes.”

All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Pasadena Humane Society, California Fire Department, LAFD Foundation, and the Anti-Recidivism Coalition Firefighter Fund. Tickets for the show go on sale Monday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. at Livenation.com.
