MACON — The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is looking for people to work for it.

Several job fairs are scheduled beginning this week for veterans and other highly qualified candidates for new juvenile corrections officers now available at facilities around the state, according to a news release.

“Serious applicants should know these juvenile corrections positions require professional attitudes and performance,” Commissioner Avery Niles said in the release. “It takes especially motivated people to join our mission in a full-time juvenile corrections career.”

The locations and times of the job fairs may change, and other career fair dates may be added, so applicants should check online at www.djjcareers.org before visiting a job fair. Four job fairs open to the general public have been scheduled:

• 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at 910 North Jefferson St., Dublin.

• 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday at Georgia Department of Labor, 16 Carter Center, Queen Street, Vidalia.

• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Wheeler County Service Center, 16 W. Forest Ave., Alamo.

• 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 26 at Public Safety Complex, 432 Crawford St., N.E., Dawson.

Applicants should check the Department of Juvenile Justice website for documents they should bring to the job fairs.
