EUGENE, Ore. — The sheriff’s office will put a grant to work providing substance abuse treatment to jail inmates.
The 3-year Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Site-based Program grant will fund the Lane County Jail Substance Abuse and Transition Program, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
The program aims to serve 20 inmates per month with medication-assisted treatment and another 100 inmates with education and counseling “to increase their chances of sobriety and reduce their chances of returning to jail.”
