Mich. county gets $800K in state grants for corrections, court programs

The Van Buren Office of Community Corrections will get $150,000 to support pretrial supervision services

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Van Buren County courts are receiving state grants totaling $800,032 to support specialty court programs, such as the county’s sobriety court.

A $650,032 grant dispersed by Michigan’s State Court Administrative Office will support Van Buren County’s Drug Treatment Court, Family Reunification Court, Swift and Sure Sanctions Probation Program, Adult and Family Recovery Courts and Sobriety Court for the 2022 fiscal year, according to a news release from Van Buren County courts.

Additionally, the State Community Corrections Board through the Michigan Department of Corrections awarded the Van Buren Office of Community Corrections a total of $150,000, to support pretrial supervision services.
