BATON ROUGE, La. — A Louisiana corrections officer died July 26 from COVID-19 complications.
KATC.com reported that Sgt. Rosa Thomas began her career with Louisiana DOC in 2007. She worked at the Louisiana State Penitentiary for nearly 13 years.
“She was known as a hard worker who was very dependable, rarely missing work,” a Facebook post by the department said. “She enjoyed her vacations, taking cruises, and in her free time loved to shop and cook.”
Thomas leaves behind three sons.
