BUFFALO, N.Y. — The former teen pageant princess who appeared on the reality show “Wife Swap” has pleaded not guilty to prostitution and drug possession charges in western New York.
Alicia Guastaferro didn’t say anything during the appearance in Pembroke Town Court on Tuesday and declined to comment to reporters afterward.
The 21-year-old Guastaferro was arrested at a New York Thruway travel plaza in August. Court documents say she told state troopers the Rochester attorney she was with, James Doyle, paid her as much as $700 twice a month to spend the night and have sex.
Doyle also faces charges. He denies the allegations.
Guastaferro and ABC settled a lawsuit last year over the “Wife Swap” episode. She claimed its unfair portrayal of a spoiled 15-year-old made her a target of ridicule.
